Combination Marks include both text and a symbol / icon that work together to represent an organisation. A descriptive typeface can compliment a symbol, while providing clarity as to what your brand is all about.

Wordmark / Logotype
Also referred to as text or typographic logos. Wordmark logos use a smart arrangement of letters and typefaces to embody a business's brand.
Wordmark logos are the most popular and have very little or no graphical content.
Word mark logos are among the most recognisable logos of all time, some famous word mark logos are include Coca-Cola, Microsoft and Mobil.
Symbolic / iconic logos
As the name suggests, symbolic logos use an image that is emblematic of a particular company or product. These symbols can be either descriptive or abstract, and are less direct than straight text, which allows different interpretations of what the logo represents.
